Eugene Cordero

Eugene is a professor and climate scientist in the Department of Meteorology and Climate Science at San Jose State University. Eugene’s passion for creating solutions to climate change through education have been featured in this TedX talk (How Burritos Changed How I Think About Climate Science) and were recognized when Eugene was named a Google Science Communication Fellow. Eugene now leads a team of scientists, educators and artists who have taken what they’ve learned from the University class to creating a formal science curriculum for middle school students that helps students design a more sustainable world. This curriculum, which is called ‘Green Ninja’ has recently been adopted by the California Department of Education as approved science provider for the state. School districts throughout California and the nation are moving towards new science standards and Green Ninja is one of the options among various textbook publishers.
